Bernard Sexton is an Irish composer who has been working in the area of sacred and choral music for the past twenty five years. A graduate of University College Dublin and Trinity College Dublin , many of his compositions have been published in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States and his music is frequently performed on RTE National Radio and Television and at the Irish Church Music Association Summer School where he has also acted as tutor. He has been a prize-winner at two major sacred music competitions and he was one of four Irish composers invited to submit settings for the revised liturgical texts introduced in 2011. His Mass of Renewal has won praise for its accessibility and musical integrity. In 2012, Bernard was commissioned to write the theme song, Though We Are Many, for the International Eucharistic Congress which was held in Dublin; this hymn has become an established part of the repertoire of choirs world wide. Bernard is a music educator and directs a multi-award winning chamber choir, Anima, which specializes in a cappella sacred music. He is currently music director for the new primary school religion programme ,Grow in Love, published by Veritas, Ireland.
